Zambia is littered with abandoned industrial buildings and infrastructure. Ngwerere station is situated on the edge of Lusaka in shat was and, to a degree still is farmland.
Believe it or not this is still an active station on the ZRL network. The Station Master says there a couple of trains a week and he showed us round the ruins with a degree of pride of what used to be the loading platform for cattle.
It is very sad that the rail network has been neglected for so long. Indeed you can see the water towers and pumps used in the days of steam.
You have captured the desolation of this station and the feeling of abandonment so well .
